Site Handover for Kampala Regional Service Centre at the GPO
Posta Uganda yesterday hosted an official site handover at the General Post Office (GPO) in Kampala, marking a key milestone in the establishment of the Kampala Regional Service Centre.
The project, led by the Ministry of Public Service, will see the renovation of the GPO to create a centralised service centre where members of the public can access multiple government services under one roof.
Construction and implementation of the project will be undertaken by the UPDF Engineers Brigade under the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs.
The handover was officiated by the Managing Director of Posta Uganda and the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, who formally handed over the site to the UPDF Engineers Brigade to commence works.
This initiative reflects Government’s commitment to improving service delivery through integrated, accessible, and efficient public service infrastructure.
